I first read this book earlier last year, but gender identity remains such an important and relevant issue to address.
Pronouns are an important part of a person’s identity, and Archie Bongiovanni & Tristan Jimerson do an amazing job explaining what they are, why they’re important, and especially why it’s so important to use the correct pronouns. As an academic librarian I was excited to see pronouns being recognized (finally) by authorities such as the American Psychological Association (APA) with their seventh edition writing style guide, but the concept is confusing to many people.
This book is a great resources for those that identify on the genderqueer spectrum, and for those that want to better understand them and the they/them pronouns. It doesn’t hurt that the writing and art are both amazing and witty.
This book was provided to me free of charge on NetGalley in return for an honest and professional review as a librarian.
